Edinburgh 2007
2007 sees an abundance of Scottish theatre and
dance companies take to the stages of Edinburgh
during the Edinburgh International Festival and
Fringe, from the award winning National Theatre of Scotland (The Bacchae and Venus as a Boy) to the innovative Arches Theatre Company (Pit) and Ek Performance (Game Theory). The Traverse, Scotland’s
new writing theatre, is home to a number of Scottish companies, as well as staging two world premieres by David Greig and Selma Dimitrijevic.
The variety, range and quality of work presented by Scottish companies in August on this unique international platform is more than representative of the work staged in Scotland throughout the year. The Federation of Scottish Theatre, the membership body for the professional theatre sector in Scotland, is delighted to have this opportunity to highlight its membership’s work.
All of the companies whose work is included in this website are available to tour. Enquiries should be directed to the contact from each company.
Following the inaugural Scotland Live showcase in March 2006, which featured 17 performances of Scottish theatre and dance, in 6 cities over 5 days, the Federation of Scottish Theatre will be staging a similar event in spring 2008. Scotland Live 2008 will feature the best Scottish theatre and dance available for international touring. If you would be interested in attending this event, or simply wish to receive regular updates from FST on what’s happening in Scottish theatre, please click on the Scotland Live 2008 tab above and complete the form so we can keep in touch with you.
